In this Nonfiction Writing class, we will explore our Creative Processes and Processes of Mastery. This class is designed to allow students the opportunity to examine their own journeys, formed by years of accumulated practice, performance, meditation and instruction. The objective of the course will be to create essays and observations of value to individuals pursuing similar goals. Students will be required to write essays detailing their Creative Processes and/or Processes of Mastery pertaining to both musical and nonmusical endeavors. Possible readings include: Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast, Igor Stravinsky, Poetics of Music, Victor Wooten, The Music Lesson: A Spiritual Search for Growth Through Music.
